BTECH GMRS-RPT50 Current firmware 0.1.026R
A complete 50W GMRS repeater in one integrated chassis.

Put a true continuous-duty GMRS station on the air without sourcing and tuning a separate duplexer or adding an external ID controller. Configure all eight repeater pairs and CW identification from the front panel—and use the included keypad microphone for local PTT operation on the selected pair.
4.92/5 12 customer reviewsGMRS-RPT50 vs. a typical competing 50W repeater
Compare the complete installed repeater—not just the transmitter.
A competing repeater sold without an internal duplexer may need a separate duplexer chassis, RF jumper cables, tuning and additional cost before it can operate through one antenna. The GMRS-RPT50 puts the duplexer, CW identification and station controls inside the repeater from the start.
One chassis. One price. One supported platform.
- Smart duplexer included inside the repeater and in the published price
- 100W-capable duplexer in units shipping from 2026
- Single duplexed TX/RX antenna port with fewer RF interconnects
- All eight GMRS repeater pairs with every operating setting available at the front panel
- Built-in CW Auto ID configurable without a computer
- Passcode-protected controls can lock down the station after setup
- Published 100% maximum work cycle
More hardware before it becomes a one-antenna station.
- External duplexer chassis required for single-antenna operation
- Two RF jumper cables and additional connection points
- Duplexer power handling may only match the 50W transmitter
- Front-panel controls may not expose every operating setting
- CW ID setup may require PC software
- Repeater-only pricing can hide the full system price
Engineered for permanent service
A true 24/7 repeater—not a short-duty compromise.
The GMRS-RPT50 is specified for a 100% maximum work cycle. With proper ventilation, power and RF installation, it is built for the job a fixed repeater is supposed to do: stay available.
The upgraded duplexer rating is power-handling headroom, not a 100W transmitter-output claim.
Your repeater identifies itself.
Configure the CW callsign, identification interval, activity behavior, speed and audio level without adding an external ID controller.
Talk from the repeater site
Your repeater can also be your local GMRS operating point.
Press PTT on the included keypad microphone and the GMRS-RPT50 locally keys its transmitter on whichever of the eight repeater pairs is selected. Speak through the installed repeater system without keeping a separate handheld or mobile radio at the site.
Precisely scoped: this is local operation on the selected repeater pair, not a separate 22-channel GMRS simplex base radio.
Configuration in minutes
From rack to configured without a bench full of gear.
- 1Mount and ventilate
Use the included 19-inch rack brackets or a stable shelf with clear airflow.
- 2Connect the antenna system
With the internal duplexer, connect quality 50-ohm coax to the rear TX/RX N-type port.
- 3Connect AC with DC failover
Use mains power for normal operation and connect a properly fused, regulated 13.8V DC source as backup if AC power fails.
- 4Set the pair, tones and ID
Configure from the front panel, confirm the display, and put the station on the air.

Supported after purchase
The repeater has kept improving.
The current 0.1.026R firmware package was released April 22, 2026. Recent firmware generations added reverse CTCSS controls, a reorganized front-panel menu, adjustable CW ID level, per-channel TX power display, and an improved CPS workflow.
Controls you can see
Understand the station before you install it.
Reserved interfaces: IP and EXT 1/2 are not enabled for GMRS repeater linking.
Complete the station
Everything in the chassis. Add the right antenna system.
Range is driven by antenna height, feed-line loss, terrain, interference and the radios using the system. We would rather help you build the right installation than promise an arbitrary mileage number.

Is it equipped with a duplexer? If so then it’s going to be a winner
BTECH Radios –
Yes it has a built in duplexer

Seems to work pretty good so far.
Haiku GMRS –
Been operating for about 1.5 months now and it’s been working great. Absolutely nothing that, at my level, can tell would be wrong with it.
Still waiting on Network Compatibility firmware update. Any news on that BTECH? When can we expect to be able to use the network jack?

This repeater is surprisingly a good performer. I received one with a bad duplexer which Btech was prompt to send a replacement. It was an easy install with some basic skills. I have setup many repeater systems and tuned duplexer’s for them. This unit was incredibly easy to setup and install. Receive sensitivity is very good for a desktop repeater. Output power is good as well. After testing this for months in a low RF environment I am currently using this at a commercial site and it is performing flawlessly. Knobs and buttons have a cheap loose / poor feel but they function as they should. The CW id is very slow and should be set to the highest speed. Overall I think this is a great part 95 repeater for the average radio enthusiast it is easy to setup and deploy without thousands of dollars in gear to get a repeater on the air. My biggest complaint at this point is the lack of DTMF remote control and having to carry a mic with me to enter the security code.

Having owned a couple vertex repeaters this repeater out performs very happy easy to setup works great

Radio seems to be working fine so far.. The manual lacks so much information and there is very little information or videos with details.

I received my RPT-50 repeater in September ’24. I hooked it up to the antenna system that I had been previously running a lower power repeater from. Hooked up pretty seamlessly and I was able to get it working quickly. I wanted to use digital tones but one of the 1st things the repeater instructions stated was you needed to do update V1.003R. Unfortunately the update program would only run on a Win10 computer and the best I had was Win7. So for the time being I operated with an analog tone which worked fine.
By Sept 10 I had a Win10 computer and updated the system and it took. I tried the DCS tone and realized I needed to reboot the repeater before I could use the digital tones. After the reboot the DCS tones were working but I had a squelch hash noise after the repeater unkeyed. It was annoying enough to me that I returned to the analog tones. The techs suggested that it might be my HT and not the repeater. I have not tried digital tones since.
On Sept 15 on their own BTech sent me a new Duplexer and it arrived on the 21st and I installed it easily and got it back in operation. The new duplexer was able to operate at a higher voltage and it had a substantially better reception than the original. I was still getting about 42 watts out of the repeater that faded and held at about 38 watts. Up to this point the tech service was excellent and they put up with my many questions. After I mentioned the fading issue they stopped responding to me.
The repeater is OK and a good deal for the price and how easy it is to setup. I haven’t been able to get the morse code setup operating the way I thought I could with a 15 minute report while busy and quiet while the repeater is unused. So I’ve kept it off. I’ve been using analog tones and it’s worked just fine. I was hoping for another update beyond 1.003R to fix the reboot issue with digital tones and an update for the morse code response.

Received my rpt50 quick and very well packaged. Setup was very easy and had it up and running in about 15 minutes. So far im getting close to 40 miles distance. I have the antenna mounted on a fire station tower about 70 feet in the air. We will use this for emergency communications for our community. Great product Btech and I highly recommend to anyone that is in the market for a quality, easy setup repeater.
