More Ways to Customize, Program, and Prepare with the GMRS-V2
Add GMRS Channels Fast
Use the onboard GCH-AD menu to place GMRS channels into open memories in just a few steps—no computer required for quick setup changes in the field.
Program It Your Way
Use free CHIRP software to bulk-load repeaters, and backup your setup in minutes — the easiest and most flexible programming in its price range.
Light and Alert Ready
A built-in LED flashlight and SOS alarm add extra utility when visibility drops, weather turns, or you need a quick attention-getting signal.
Built for Real Conditions
The GMRS-V2’s IP54-rated weather-resistant casing is made for everyday outdoor use around dust, splashes, trails, campsites, and changing weather.
Engineered GMRS Chipset — Not a Retuned Generic Radio
Most budget GMRS radios are adapted from generic designs, then retuned or firmware-limited for GMRS. The GMRS-V2 is different. BTECH developed a major chipset revision with a reworked PCB and custom tuning specifically optimized for GMRS frequencies.
The result is stronger receiver sensitivity, cleaner audio, better selectivity, and more dependable real-world performance, helping pull in weak signals and distant repeaters with the kind of clarity serious GMRS users notice immediately.

Bought one on Amazon a few days ago after returning the Radioddity GM-30. After comparing I have to say that this is the best GMRS radio in its class and price point. All features work, reception is excellent, and it is user-friendly! My only criticism is that the battery is hard to put on and take off. Other than that… very nice job!

Game changer in GMRS handhelds! Allows you to put any GMRS frequency in any channel location. No “hard-coded” channel assignments. Feature-rich, has everything I’d want in a radio. Recommended product!

Have been really impressed with this radio. I have been able to hit a repeater as far as 38 miles away.

First off, one thing I hate is in order to remain competitive in the marketplace, you gotta have a five star review. I like to save those for products that truly stand out. BTech markets some of those radios.
While the GMRS V2 doesn’t stand out on it’s own, it is definitely a good radio and a step up above the V1. I found it runs a lot like the GMRS and MURS V1 units but I can set the V2 up with different pl tones for various channels. If I want to use it here at home, I would typically run 141.3 ( I forget the decimal, it might be different) and run channel 19. I can now set a second zone for a trip to east Texas with some of the tones set to 156.7, then tune to it instead of needing to use the software.
I haven’t used it a whole lot, but did make the trip from Oklahoma to South Padre Island with it. We wound up running an AnyTone 868 and a Motorola XPR3500e due to the built in GPS and DMR features, but the GMRS V2 stayed handy for simplex communication.
Existing UV-82 and V1 hardware hooks right up to it despite extensive internal differences. This is a lifesaver!!
I had some audio rx issues but nothing to write home about. This is a sub $100 radio that’s got backwards compatibility down pat. It’s not going to have the same audio as an AnyTone (including the DMR 6×2) that costs between $220 and $350. It’s not gonna match the $500+ MotoTRBO unit (even that has audio issues sometimes). It will keep you connected, though.
I’ve never dealt with AnyTone customer service, but their support can be tricky. Motorola’s is satisfactory.
Now look at how much you’re paying for the GMRS V2 and remember part of it is customer service. BTech customer service is nowhere even close to “satisfactory”, folks they left that in the dust, blazed on past outstanding, and kept right on going. It honestly felt to me like they have an expert assigned to me to do whatever I needed to get my other BTech units going. I know a ton of companies who could learn by watching BTech’s customer support. That alone is worth any extra you’d pay for their equipment.

this is my first step into the GMRS world. i purchased this radio based on you tube research alone. (not a rubicon) has some of the best videos on the you tube. i also purchased the Nagoya ant. this radio delivers all that was promised! the first week i had it, i was able to reach a repeater in the county next to mine and join my first net meeting. still a lot to learn but i see more of these radios being purchased along with some accessories! thanks for making a great product affordable for people to get into GMRS.

Just received my radios. So far, so good. Radios function quite well.

This radio, the GMRS V2, is the best of all because it is easier to program by hand, especially when setting the CTCSS tones. So far, I’ve not had any issues
Thank you again for putting out the best handheld GMRS
William Underwood –
The only problem that I have is trying to figure out how to input repeater frequency’s and tones.
Any help would be appreciated
BTECH Radios –
That is what makes the GMRS-V2 easy, the repeaters are already loaded and you simply enter the tones (Channels 23-30). You also can quick add another repeater without needing to enter any frequency or offset from the quick add repeater menu

Rxcellent radio. I have two issues. To tune FM radio, press Side Key F momentarily. Nothing happens. I tried entering an FM radio freauency. It would’n take it.
The display backlight. The three colors don’t offer much contrast. When working with settings, it is annoying when the backlight goes off. As a suggestion: a white backlight with variabl brightness, and sn always on setting.
Just nit- picking. Otherwis a great radio
