Absolutely love this radio. Pairs perfectly with the app, and works just as advertised with my GMRS PRO HTs. I have this mounted in my house for a base station. Whenever they catch back up on stock, I’ll be adding one to my truck.
The menu is easy to navigate. The radio is easy to program. The app has a little polishing needed, BUT, programming through it is still very easy. You can also completely control the radio via the app for those that are wondering (channel changes, power settings, etc etc). Paired with the HTs as a base or mobile you have a non grid dependent comms system. Via the app you can text, obviously use the radio to talk, and the app also allows you to use network data for voice and text comms. See where are the radios are via gps on the map.
The radio itself tested true to its 50w claims with an SWR/power meter.
Well done BTECH.

This radio is a powerhouse not only in output but features I was running a Midland MXT and when I got this in the mail I completely removed it after one day of use on this radio. Being able to access channels and tweak them and have higher power output is definitely a nice thing. Not to mention I’m not stuck with just narrowband like on my Midland. It is a little bit bigger and I wasn’t able to mount it where I had my Midland mounted. But that’s not a big deal to me. I put it in a different location just from my testing that I’ve done with the antenna I have, I’m already hitting repeaters that I could not hit with my Midland. I haven’t figured it out yet or it’s not available, but what I would like to be able to do is program multiple repeaters with the same frequency for I don’t have to keep changing my transmit codes every time I hit a different repeater because of the fact that I have seven repeaters within 50 mi that all use the same frequency with different transmit tones.

I love the 50PRO! Great feature set and the audio comes through loud and clear! I paired this radio with the Midland MXT25 cable and MXT26 3dB antenna and I’m transmitting consistently at 50+ watts (on CH 15-22) and an SWR of 1.2 average, depending on the channel. I’m hitting repeaters across KY that are 20 to 30 miles away from my car so far and others are telling me that I’m loud and clear on their end. I have lots more GMRSing to do with this baby and my UVPROs! Thank you BTech!

I just received my GMRS 50 Pro on Tuesday 8.12.2025. This radio is definitely unique for the GMRS world much like it’s hand held counterpart, the GMRS Pro. Let me begin by commenting on it’s rugged commercial grade Construction. The radio is very solid and has a IP54 weatherproof rating. The radio is compact and easy to mount based on it’s command Mic design. I have 2 of the GMRS Pro hand held radios and I was easily able to use the sync function to program the mobile radio with my GMRS Pro HT in less than 1 minute. All my existing channels, repeaters, alpha tags and tones copied seamlessly to the mobile radio. The color screen on the speaker mic is large, clear, and easy to read. The onboard compass and GPS make it a solid choice traveling the highways or adventuring in off road locations. Bluetooth has become expected on modern devices, although, most GMRS radios do not incorporate it. The GMRS 50 Pro leverages Bluetooth for programing as well as audio connections. The phone app makes it very simple and easy to execute programing on the fly without the need for a programming cable or PC. Another positive is that continued firmware updates will continually improve the functionality of the radio. Over all, the GMRS 50 PRO is an excellent GMRS Radio.

This has every feature that I want in a radio, EXCEPT… it is not programmable by CHIRP. I don’t want a phone app. I don’t want a new piece of software. I want to connect it like I do any other radio, and send over my already well established template of channels.
