UV-82 and UV-82X

The biggest redesign to hit the radio market since the UV-5R. The UV-82 has a whole new design with you in mind. Its exterior features larger buttons, a more ergonomic case, and a dual Push-to-talk switch making communicating on multiple channels easier than ever. Plus it includes all of the previous features you loved in the UV-5R, but it now includes a stronger antenna and receiver plus expanded frequency ranges.

The X model variation replaces the 70 centimeter frequency band (400-520 MHz) with the 1.25 meter frequency band (220-260MHz).

BF-F8+

This radio is a second generation UV-5R. Like the UV-82 it has an expanded frequency range. It has a VFO/MR button found on the UV-5R series not found on the UV-82 series. The BF-F8+ uses the same updated internal components as the GT-3 but also has full backward compatibility with the UV-5R batteries and accessories

UV-82C - Commercial

The UV-82C (Commercial) comes with special firmware that enable it to be completely FCC Part 90 (Commercial) Use Approved. The UV-82C allows the VFO mode to be disabled along with allowing synchronization of the upper and lower PTT buttons, the UV-82C also requires a PC Programming Cable prior to using.

BF-888s

One of the first radios developed by BaoFeng. This radio is a budget friendly radio with an MSRP of only $20. It was designed especially for ham radio use operating in the UHF (400-470MHz ) frequency only. It has only 16 channels, but who can argue at that price entry price point.

UV-5R+ / UV-5RE PLUS

A cosmetic variant of the 1st Generation UV-5R Series. The UV-5R series radios have been updated by a second generation UV-5R Series as such models of the UV-5R series are discontinued from our site

UV 5R V2+

UV-5r V2+

This radio is NOT an upgraded Radio. Another Vendor has simply rebadged a UV-5R. These radios use the exact same chipset as the UV-5R. There is no difference in this radio from the UV-5R. Vendors that lie in marketing should be avoided as their customer service follows the same suit. The UV-5R v2+ is not an upgrade to the UV-5R series.

UV-3R and 3R+

The BaoFeng UV-3R series were the first BaoFengs to get dual band and dual display. is a compact hand held transceiver providing 4 watts in the frequency range of 136-174 MHz and 400-470 MHz. The 1st Generation UV-5R series have been known as the successor to the UV-3R series radios, as such models of the UV-3R series are discontinued from our site.

A-52 / B-580T

A cosmetic variant of the 2nd Generation UV-5R Series

We prefer the BF-F8+ because it is backward compatible with all the UV-5R batteries and accessories - giving it the access to the most add-ons.

UV-5R (aka UV-5r v2+)

The BaoFeng UV-5R is a compact hand held transceiver providing 4 watts in the frequency range of 136-174 MHz and 400-480 MHz. It is a compact, economical HT that includes a special VHF receive band from 65 - 108 MHz which includes the regular FM broadcast band. The UV-5R series radios have been updated by a second generation UV-5R Series as such models of the UV-5R series are discontinued from our site
