Very nice little rig that I use for ALL the local repeaters. The charging cradle works well and I get the full 3W out of it.

Great little radio. I wish there were better availability of parts or accessories but it certainly works and is a compact unit. The greatest? No, but it is not expensive and got me started into Radio. No regrets.

Great little radio. It small and makes it easy to carry when I do t think I need my larger heavier radios. If you can’t figure this one out, start with FRS radios and work your way up slowly.

MY review is not so much about the radio, but about the prior comments.

It’s not a charging cradle you morons. It’s not a toothbrush that capacitively couples and charges. It’s a radio STAND. You have to take the battery out of the radio, or take the wall wart and plug it right in to the DC jack on the side of the radio.

As to the radio – it works. What do you expect from a $30 radio?

    Best radio ever.
I have two 10 years old radios, very compact size, they are all the time with me. USB charging is good, but I miss the USB-C connector. I am going to buy one more.

Ron04 mine is the short dual band & it came with a charge cradle but I didn’t have mine so I plugged it into the side of the radio. Mine was a gift from another ham & all was there but the cradle. I looked it up & for sure a charge cradle came with my model.

I have had my UV-3r for about 3+ years. Great little radio for around town. Amazing I can hit a tower 5 miles with hills between me. No issues except I lost the screw that holds the belt clip.lol. my fault.
