This antenna works perfectly right out of the box, no turning necessary. Great product, I do recommend it for everyone.

I purchased this Nagoya UT-72G antenna through your Amazon store. I’m a wildlife researcher and use primarily GMRS when in the field. My Midland MXTA26 works very well when I have very good line-of-sight, but was not performing well in heavy forest, hilly areas and in urban environments because of it’s narrow radiation pattern while transmitting.
The Nagoya UT-72G has a larger radiation pattern and does much better in hilly or forests areas, as well as urban environments in towns and cities with obstructions… because of it lower gain. And it still performs very well with good line-of-sight, very close to the Midland. So, this has become my most used antenna for GMRS.
