Great addition to any UV5R style radio. Personally, I bought this for my UV-5X3 that I keep permanently in my truck on a mount. It’s incredibly easy to plug a USB-C cable right into the bottom of the battery to keep it topped off and ready to go.
Recommended to those looking for a better grip, size and battery life from the standard (smaller) battery.

I waited a long time to give an honest and tested review. I bought this USB-C extended battery to replace my original extended battery (which btw lived a ridiculously long time) for my very old UV-5R and it’s amazing. It’s very much like the original extended battery with the USB -C charging option. It was a great idea. It’s safer and you can leave the radio off for months, and it still holds the charge. I will be buying the UV-82HP USB-C extended batteries when the originals finally give out. I have to admit, Baofeng batteries last a long, long time.
