Item purchased for backup charging from 12V battery in the event line current is unavailable. Seems to work fine. As with the cable that directly plugs into the UV5X3 3800maH battery, first charged that battery in its holder on from a 12V SLA, then switched to AC line current to see whether it was fully charged. The red “no charge” light appeared and changed to green in a minute or less. Another handy piece of kit.
