BTECH Launches the MURS-V2, the Most Versatile MURS Radio with USB-C Charging

Friday, March 3, 2023

BTECH, a leading radio products company based in the USA, has launched its latest two-way radio, the MURS-V2. The MURS-V2 radio boasts 200 fully customizable channels, making it the ultimate communication tool for those who require a versatile and flexible radio solution. Users can easily arrange, modify, and utilize all 200 channels for MURS, NOAA, or scanner purposes, offering unparalleled flexibility.

MURS Radio

The MURS-V2 radio operates on VHF frequencies, making it an ideal communication tool for open environments such as warehouses. Plus, the Multi-Use Radio Service (MURS) is a license-free radio service, saving businesses time and money on licensing processes. This makes the MURS-V2 radio a cost-effective solution for both businesses and consumers. In open areas, VHF signals travel farther than UHF signals, making the MURS-V2 radio an excellent option for businesses that require clear and reliable communication.

While the Multi-Use Radio Service (MURS) is a license-free radio service, it is often less used by consumers than similar services such as Family Radio Service (FRS) or General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) – which means that they offer less interference and clearer communication in areas where FRS or GMRS radios may experience congestion or interference.

Fully Customizable with MURS and Scanner Channels

The MURS-V2 radio is a unique two-way radio that stands out from the crowd due to its exceptional customizability. It offers 200 channels that can be fully edited to be either MURS or VHF/UHF scanner channels, making it the ultimate customizable radio solution for any business. This feature allows businesses to tailor their communication networks to their specific needs, ensuring clear and reliable communication between teams and departments. The ability to program scanner channels is particularly useful for users such as businesses, churches, schools, and retailers. Scanner channels can be programmed to local law enforcement, NOAA weather, and other channels of interest, providing an added layer of security and ensuring that businesses are aware of any potential security threats in the area. The MURS-V2’s flexibility and versatility make it the perfect communication tool for any business that requires reliable, high-quality communication in any environment.

USB-C Charging

The MURS-V2 radio has a new and improved BL-8 battery that includes a USB-C charging feature, making it more convenient than ever to keep your radio charged and ready to use. With this feature, you can charge the battery directly using a USB-C cable, or you can still use the CH-8 desktop charger if you prefer. This new feature provides users with greater flexibility and convenience in powering their devices. You can charge your radio on the go, using a power bank or a laptop with a USB-C port, or simply plug it into the CH-8 charger when you’re at home or in the office. The USB-C charging feature is a new addition to the MURS-V2 radio, and it’s a great way to make sure that your radio is always ready to use when you need it.

IP54 Weatherproof

The MURS-V2 radio is designed to withstand any weather condition, so you can use it with confidence in any situation. It has a rugged and durable IP54 weatherproof casing, which means it’s resistant to dust, dirt, and splashes of water. This makes it ideal for use in outdoor environments, such as hiking trips, camping trips, and other outdoor activities. The IP54 rating also means that the radio can withstand tough conditions, such as drops and impacts, ensuring reliable performance in any environment. Whether you’re on a job site or working in a humid environment, the MURS-V2 will keep you connected and informed. With its durable construction and weather-resistant design, the MURS-V2 is the ideal radio for outdoor enthusiasts, professionals, and anyone who needs a reliable communication tool in any weather condition.

Comprehensive Kit of Included Accessories

The MURS-V2 radio kit provides an all-inclusive solution for individuals or businesses who need reliable two-way communication. With everything you need to get started right out of the box, the kit includes the MURS-V2 radio, a 1800mAh battery, a V-85 dual-band antenna, a CH-8 charger, a CH-8 110V adapter, an earpiece kit, a wrist strap, a belt clip, and a user manual. It looks like the USB C port is on the battery itself? If so can I buy the battery for my other UV-82 style and my BTech GMRSV1?

You would want an amateur radio such as the DMR-6X2 or UV-5X3, both are compatible with K1 Kenwood 2 pin accessories, and it is very likely that a third party manufacturer makes an accessory like that

Is it compatible with your BF-F8HP model

    March 3, 2023 at 11:11 am
    • BTECH Radios Reply

The BF-F8HP is Part 90 approved for LMR and amateur use, while the MURS-V2 is Part 95J approved for MURS use. A BF-F8HP can be programmed to operate on MURS frequencies due to the LMR range it encompasses but it is not recommended as it is not a certified MURS radio

    What are the 15 preprogrammed
    MURS frequencies?

    March 3, 2023 at 12:14 pm
    • BTECH Radios Reply

They are on page 32 of the user manual, it matches the programming with the MURS-V1 of 3 MURS pairs with different CTCSS/DCS tones on each pair. This allows for out of the box compatibility with the MURS-V1 but the user can delete and arrange channels however it works best for them

Can or does this support any type of intercom or speak to talk function? Hands free talk?

Yes, it has VOX hands free built-in, and using the K1 to 3.5MM adaptor cable you can pair the MURS-V2 with intercoms that use the TRRS standard cable

Can it be set to scan between limits – 2m and 70cm amateur bands, or does it require specific frequencies to be entered.

Can this scan the murs channels and capture the tones being used? My son bought a Garmin Trend that will not connect up to his present radio. I think murs V1 could scan the tones and allow the connection.
