New Release – BTECH UV-50X2 (2nd Generation)
Thursday, December 8, 2022
BTECH is delighted to announce the release of the second-generation UV-50X2. While this next generation of UV-50X2 provides the same functionality of the previous generation, it comes with a few convenient upgrades and performance enhancements for the user experience.
Upgrades
The second-generation UV-50X2 features all new menus and operations that allow audio input/output from the RJ45 microphone jack. This allows users to install their radio into custom applications and control where the speaker and mic audio are routed. VOX support is also included allowing you handsfree use of the UV-50X2 with your favorite audio accessories. As a bonus, you will also receive an RJ45 to K1 audio adaptor, giving you compatibility to use any of our accessories for our handheld radios.
The second-generation UV-50X2 also includes improved filters to provide the best quality transmitting and receiving audio experience.
Several new menus also work together to set default PTT operations. Allowing you to reply to any call heard, or default to only transmit on a primary selected channel. These customization options allow full control on either the included microphone or your own custom audio application.
Customize It
Adding and removing up to 200 programmable channels with your UV-50X2 is simple from the scanning list using your PC or right from the radio itself. You can also fully customize the channels to display the frequency settings or alpha-numeric names. Want further customization? The UV-50X2 has an LCD display that can also be adjusted to be the color of your choice. All these abilities give you the power to really make your UV-50X2 the radio you want it to be, with endless combinations of colors and channels.
Power
The UV-50X2 functions as an all-in-one radio using the power of multiple radios at once with ‘Quad Watch’. This means you can monitor up to four channels at once, while using the ‘Main Band’ for VHF or UHF and simultaneously watching up to 3 other frequencies or channels. If you like, you can configure your UV-50X2 for simultaneous VHF-VHF or UHF-UHF operation, too! A handy new feature allows you to monitor both VFO (frequency) and channel modes simultaneously.

Can this units microphone be used with the GMRS 50X1? The GMRS 50X1 needs this featured microphone desperately. When the GMRS 50X1 is used as a mobile in a off-road vehicle the small display is useless, unless your stopped and have a magnifying glass.
An updated GMRS-50X1 is in the works for an early 2023 release
can someone buy the rj45 to k1 splitter cable? id buy a couple right now for a couple of my radios
These are included with the second generation mobiles already – no purchase necessary
I have the uv50x2 radio and rj45 type splitter. I can receive Loud and clear on headsets and speaker but trasmit audio on rugged radio headset and 2 other headsts very low.
You may need to adjust the microphone gain inside the UV-50X2 menu
