Use Network Channels in the BTECH Programmer apps
Think internet PTT room, not radio channel
A Network Channel is a PTT room inside the BTECH Programmer app. You can create or join one, control access, choose a server, talk through the phone, and mute or close the room.
Network Channels cannot be linked to GMRS radio traffic. The app does not bridge, relay, or retransmit a room over a GMRS frequency.

The app carries the conversation—not the radio
Use BTECH GMRS Programmer with GMRS models and BTECH UV Programmer with UV models. Network Channel audio travels through the phone app and the internet, not through the radio transmitter.
Create a Network Channel

Open Network Channels
Open the Network Channels area in the Programmer app. Existing rooms show their online, offline, or muted state.

Name the room clearly
Choose Add or the equivalent create control. Use a title your group will recognize and add a password if access should be restricted.

Choose a nearby server
Select a server location close to most participants. Start with a moderate bitrate; raising it can improve audio but also uses more data and can make a weak connection less reliable.

Test with one other person
Save the room, have an authorized participant join, and check microphone, speaker, mute, and notification behavior before sharing it with a larger group.
Join a Network Channel

Use the exact room name
Select the room supplied by its owner and enter its password if required. Avoid creating a look-alike room when access fails.

Check its state
An offline or muted room can look connected while remaining silent. Bring the room online and unmute it before changing phone settings.

Confirm the audience
Network audio can reach participants far beyond local radio range. Verify the room and audience before speaking.

Common questions
Is a Network Channel the same as a radio memory channel?
No. A Network Channel is an internet room in the app. A memory channel stores over-the-air radio settings. They are separate and cannot be linked.
Does it work without internet access?
No. The room needs a data connection. Local over-the-air radio use is separate.
Can the room retransmit GMRS traffic?
No. Network Channels and GMRS RF communications cannot be linked, bridged, or relayed.

Is it possible to have different ID signaling settings for different Network Channels?
This would allow me to share my ID signaling/location with specific network channels with people I know and trust, and keep protected when in more public Network Channels
This feature is great but I don’t have any confidence in this or Vero’s app being updated and maintained to add features or fix any bugs or strange behavior. e.g. If you’re in the BTECH network channel and play one message you’re about to hear everything someone accidentally posted to the same channel.
i am really concerned about the reliance on this application and encouraging users to use their mobile phones to send messages to “network channels” that don’t operate the same between this and the other radios on this platform like the N76 for amateur radio?
not to mention the feature parity gap between Android and iOS for their app is ridiculous. the BTECH GMRS-PRO app doesn’t seem to have that problem but it’s really confusing when reviewers imply you can bridge communication over the Internet which is kind of true i guess in that you can be annoyed by random confused people all day long by joining the BTECH GMRS channel, but none of that goes to the radio on the GMRS-PRO.
the app works well for configuring the radio but there really needs to be a way to also use an alternate method. the reason i’ve invested in building a household GMRS system is for when mobile phone networks or access to the Internet is unreliable. why product teams are shipping devices _dependent upon unreliable systems we cannot control_ is not the direction i would have hoped to see this go?
Seems like the IOS app doesn’t link the radio and channel to a network group. The ptt will not key from the HT to the app in the “chat”. There’s also a link radio setting in the android version that iOS does not. I wonder if that’s why I can’t let the network channel chat from my HT?
Because of FCC regulations at this time, network communications cannot be linked to GMRS communications

On Android in Simple View, I can bind a network channel to a specific channel on the UV-PRO, but I can’t find this option anywhere in the iOS app. The network channel shows up and I can join it, but there’s no way to associate it with a particular radio channel like I can on Android.
Is this a feature that’s planned for iOS, or am I missing where to find it?
